This was our first try at this rally. There were approx. 1000 riders. The scenery was beautiful and the route challenging. Rolling hills of 2-3% grade with a few shorter and steeper climbs thrown in for good measure. The only negatives - and they were minor: Rest Stops could have used 1 more Blue Room at each stop. There were a few spots in the road that should have had some spray paint to warn riders. This rally did seem to have more than a few riders who didn't know what "on your left" seemed to mean. That said: All of us agreed this rally was worth the drive and we'd do it again next year.

A few of us have "Been there. Done that." and decided to do our own version of H3...We called it H4 - Hell's Bells. We had 13 riders show up to ride 2 variations on the ride. Hell's Bells 1 was 100 miles. Hell's Bells 2 was a round trip to Lancaster. 7 riders went for HB1. HB1 ended up being over 100 miles for everyone. The last group of riders - Mike, Barry, Diane and Princess - logged a total of 110 miles.
On both options, we all had a great ride. No mechnanicals. The chip seal did loosen a few screws, but that's easy to fix!

We had a great turnout of GDB riders for this event. Unfortunately, the parking prevented us from finding each other at the start of the rally. It was a very hot and humid rally. Rest Stops were well prepared and offered popcicles, frozen pickles and Elvis. FYI: Frozen pickles are really good! SAG wagons were watchful over the riders. The last 5 miles saw a lot of folks just taking "breathers" by the side of the road. Showers and bluegrass music at the end of the rally were an added bonus.
