Join a fun loving group for an evening ride. Ride generally splits into several groups of differing speeds and distances. No one gets dropped in the slower group. Route changes approximately every 6 weeks - please print map from links below. An optional dinner follows the ride at a local restaurant. Meet at REI in Farmers Branch, 4515 LBJ at Welch. Please park on the northeast side of the parking lot, and be ready to head out at 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm depending on season. REI provides Cytomax Sports Drink at the start of the ride. In honor of Jim's first half century (he turns 50 in July 2005), the Best of the Southwest is doing a special SAG-supported century. Anyone wishing to ride a 105 mile course through Venus, Mountain Peak, Waxahachie, Ferris, Palmer and Lancaster, meet at Mountain View College, corner of Illinois & Duncanville Roads at 7:30am, the usual start and stop time for the Best of the Southwest. This is a 50 mile route through Flower Mound, Bartonville, Argyle, Copper Canyon and Double Oak (AKA Big Buck Ride). This is horse country, with lots of scenery and moderate, rolling hills. There is only one good break location at about 20 miles.
