The Fall Fiesta was a huge success this year. Thanks to Ken Wilson for being Ride Leader any given Sunday. Thanks to Two Rows Brewery for having a great feast our Sunday Roll Riders. They showed up to start cooking before 10:30, and no one had to wait for burgers. Riders were given a choice of a vegan, veggie or half pound of beef as burger selections. Sides were broccoli salad and potato salad. Back by popular demand, the dessert contest was well represented by members of the club. There were a lot of great desserts. Club members spend time making and baking these desserts, and it's always fun to see the events' crop of desserts. Thanks to the judges for giving it their all and sampling all of the desserts. 3rd Place goes to Tom Booth and Liz Olynyk. Who can resist a big chocolate cookie iced with a GDB jersey? 2nd place went to Tracy Lucus for her delicious Oreo cake. 1st place went to Princess for her seasonal Pumpkin Chocolate Chip brownies. What? Princess won 1st place in baking? Yes... it's very suspicious. No one was more surprised than Princess. Aside: None of the judges knew Princess had entered anything. Really.

Special thanks to the pre-party helpers. This event always takes more "before" and "behind the scenes" work. The pre-party crew showed up an hour before riders were scheduled to arrive and did - literally - the dirty work before the event.

The location was a total mess when we arrived. Luckily, the Parks & Rec folks came and cleaned up all the wet trash left from the previous night. That said, there was still a mess to clean up before the riders came back for lunch.

Aside: Pre-party helpers have had to deal with standing water the last two years of this event. It wasn't as bad this year, since the rain was gone by the time the event started. Still... brooms were needed to move water out of the pavilion. When the riders got to the event, the standing water was gone. Pre-party helpers also cleaned tables. Here's a quick thank you to you all for helping with this event. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

Princess would like to personally give a shout out to Tommy Fitzgerald - who always shows up early every year without fail. I so appreciate your help. Special mention to PJ (Patricia Jones) and Paul Brown. Thanks to Paul for doing a TP run for the Blue Rooms. You three unloaded the truck and did whatever we needed to do to get things prepped. Rick Russell, Ed Mouldrop - along with his Big Broom - and Tomas Olvera showed up and helped move water out of the pavilion. You have no idea how gross it would have been had these folks not pitched in to help. Thanks to Lori, Stacy and Rick for stepping in to pitch in during the event.

Thanks to everyone in the GDB family for showing up and making this a well attended event. Great food and great people make the event great. Please click here for pictures.
